Thanks Patrick Jenkins January 27th, 2006, 12:59 PM Deinterlacing: Fieldskit 24p deinterlacing: Magic Bullet Free: Avisynth (PC only) Graeme Nattress January 27th, 2006, 02:13 PM Well, my Film Effects does great 24p which many prefer to MB. Fields Kit is excellent, but then again, so is the new de-interlace I have for my FinalTouch plugins, which looks really really sharp. Graeme Eric James January 27th, 2006, 02:30 PM I've been very happy with DVFilm. -Eric Mark Wisniowski January 27th, 2006, 02:45 PM great ! Thanks for the replys - I'm going to try out the demos :) Patrick Jenkins January 27th, 2006, 03:34 PM Well, my Film Effects does great 24p which many prefer to MB. I do like Film Effects, but I have had a lot of issues with the demo (v2.5.1 i think - seen this with others as well). Color processing is great, the 24/30p options are fantastic and looks right, but I get noticable horizontal banding in the render. It doesn't have anything to do with the watermark or quasi-pulldown/interlacing - it's 3 or 4 horizontal bands that show up generally everytime there's a cut. It only shows up in 24p (30p seems fine) and experimenting with field options or patterns doesn't remove it (rather it staggers it). Graeme Nattress January 27th, 2006, 04:20 PM I don't have a forum. I just hang around on other people's. Do you have any other filters applied along with the 24p, and how are you monitoring. FCP does a rather poor preview in it's windows. Failing that, send me details of your set up, your timeline, what type of footage, etc. and I'll find a solution - it's probably something simple in what you're doing. Graeme Patrick Jenkins January 27th, 2006, 04:28 PM I'll see if I can get some screenshots and shoot you an email. It's definitely something in the render/export process (rather than a preview) as I've tried authoring some DVDs with the footage to see how it looks on the boob toob. Shows up in the file. Thanks! Graeme Nattress January 27th, 2006, 04:34 PM Could be a field order issue. That's something we can definately find where your workflow is going astray. Graeme |
