Ladies and Gents,
I also have a Bogen 3156 autodolly available that is a perfect compliment to the crane/tripod setup. Here's why: when you have the crane and tripod setup, and the camera and counterbalance weights installed, the entire rig is pretty heavy. If you need to move it to recompose your shot or change locations it's a two man job to manhandle the tripod and crane. Don't try it on your own or you could risk toppling it over, damaging equipment and/or people!

Want an easier solution?

Enter the dolly. It has a single lever locking mechanism making it extremely easy to go from rolling mode to locked down. It is very sturdy when locked down, especially with the weight of the loaded rig bearing down on it. It basically acts as a ground spreader, providing ultimate stability for the tripod.

Pics of actual item here:

B&H link here (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5410-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_3156_3156_Folding_Auto_Dolly.html).

Note - mine is the aluminum finish, not the black like in the B&H link.

Asking $125.

Total "package" price, not including shipping, packaging, or Paypal fees: $825 ($325 crane, $375 tripod, $125 dolly). Local pickup welcome (Tacoma/Puyallup area).

Thanks again!

Dave

Thanks for the message. I'm in the US - Washington State.

The 3066 head handles loads up to 22 pounds. I've used it with a fully loaded DV5100 as you can see in the pics, as well as a crane. It is solid. The tripod and legs weigh in at 26 pounds so I wouldn't take it on any hiking expeditions unless you're superman ;)

Click Here (http://www.bcs.tv/pdf/model/8569/bogen_3066.pdf) for a PDF with specs on the 3066.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Take care,
Dave

Hi Ryan,

If you decide to split any of this up, I would be interested in the Zoe lens controller.

Thanks,

You may try calling peter abraham (thesteadicamworkshops.com), he always has a decent selection of gently used flyers, and can answer literally ANY question you have about the rig... or basically any rig for that matter.

Hey mate...

Well damn about the Washington bit (more on that later) :p

However, hoorah about the tripod. My main concern is that the tripod wouldn't be able to hold something as front heavy as the XL2 and Redrock M2 adaptor (the XL2 is front heavy as it is) but it certainly looks up to it.

So we come to the next part...if I paid for the shipping, would it be possible to get the tripod shipped over here to Australia? That's why I was wondering where you were based, hehe.

Cheers mate -Jon

P.S And being somewhat a noob at tripods, I'm going to ask - does it come with a tripod plate that will attatch the Xl2 to the head?

Dave Uriarte
August 1st, 2007, 08:46 AM
Shipping to Australia could get a wee spendy for ya, but I can definitely look into it. However, the tripod may already be sold at this point as I'm just waiting to hear back from another member. If he decides to purchase I'll update the posting indicating it has been sold.

And yes, the tripod plate has a thumbscrew for attaching your cam. I believe it's a 1/4" screw.

Thanks!

Like new. No Rips or tears
this pack works best for still gear or smaller dv cams My DVX100a really only fit well laying on its side with how the bag is configured in the pic still plenty of room for accessories though with this configuration
its not deep enough to sit the DVX in upright without putting pressure on the mic from the lid when closed
