Selling Canon XL1s plus Accessories - $1800 plus shipping

Canon XL1s (NTSC) & 16x Optical Zoom lens (XL 5.5 - 88mm IS II): This Camera and Lens have just been annually serviced to factory specification by a Canon Factory Service Center. I would estimate the camera has done 40 Hours of total record time, and it was used as a playback deck for about 30 Hours as well. There was nothing wrong with the camera when I sent it in for service; I just wanted to have it serviced to make sure it was in tip-top shape for selling. I sent in the lens due to the back focus being out of alignment, which I double checked when the camera & lens returned to me, and it looks sharp. The Camera will come with its original packaging, the operation manual, and all accessories listed below. Send an e-mail if you are interested to:
camgear36@mac.com

Payments Accepted through PayPal only.

Sony TRV900 3CCD MiniDV camera - $700:
Original owner. Small scratch on left side of camera (see last pic) and "S" missing in the Sony logo but otherwise in great shape. Not sure about the exact hours but based on the number of tapes I have it's probably around 100 hours. I never used a tape twice. I have only used Panasonic tapes since I bought the camera and I haven't run a cleaning tape through it. You should probably run a cleaning tape through it after you get it. Comes with all original accessories plus one (1) NP-F750 and one (1) NP-F550 battery which I've had since I had the camera. Packed in original box and ready to be shipped. Photos:

Sony PVM-1354Q Broadcast Monitor - $350:
Originally rack-mounted in a studio and since then has been in my non-smoking editing bay. HR Trinitron tube with 600+ lines resolution and SMPTE C phosphors. Standard broadcast monitor features such as underscan, blue only, tally lamp, chroma adjust, 4:3/16:9 switchable, color temp adjust, etc. Get this and use a genuine broadcast monitor for color correcting. I prefer to sell this to someone local to Southern California so that they can just pick it up. I'm located in the Inland Empire. But if you want me to ship it, the shipping cost will be about $50 because of the weight and the extra packaging needed to protect it. Photos:

I have Final Cut Studio, and failed to upgrade to FCP 5.1 during the free period, mistakenly thinking the value was only for folks with Intel boxes. My G5 Dual does an okay job working with footage from my XH-A1, but it's a bit more fiddly than I'd like.

So I'm wondering if someone who's upgraded to FCP6/Final Cut Studio 2 might have the crossgrade discs around to offer me. Please drop a note if so. Thanks!

I am looking for a Cavision ,Chorizol or Redrock Follow Focus for sale or trade.

I am also looking to sell my license for Cineform Aspect HD 4.2.7 because I recently got a quad core! Cost was $500 new, upgrade to 5.0 is $100. Cost new now is $400, will sell for $325.

Anyway... trade OBO.

Scott, Apple's license forbids selling the old version of your software after upgrading to a new one. So unless I'm missing something, the only way someone could sell you FCS 5.1 would be if they purchased the full version of FCS 6 instead of the upgrade.

Hi:

Are you dumping some 8GB P2 cards in anticipation of delivery of the new 16GB cards?

As you know, everyone is out of stock on P2 cards and I have an HVX-200 with no cards. Kind of frustrating, not being able to shoot HD. If you are thinking of dumping some of your 8GB cards, I am interested in buying two or three. As you know, once the 16GBs become widely available in a couple of months, the re-sale value of the 8GB cards will fall quickly, sell them to me now while you can still get a fair price and somewhat protect your investment.

Post here, e-mail me directly at blfilms@mac.com. Would prefer to transact in the LA area in person so I can test the cards and hand you cash but will consider a reputable person out of the area to buy from as well.

Thank you for helping out a fellow HVXer who is down on his luck on getting P2 cards.

Boyd,
Thanks for the message. I wasn't sure about that, and I do want to keep things on the up-and-up. However, I do wonder if just the crossgrade falls under this same restriction. It was a free patch for a while If I'm not mistaken. Does anybody know?

I will be upgrading to FCP Studio 2 before too long, but I would love to upgrade to Universal in the meantime... if it's kosher, of course.

Final Cut Studio v1.1 Universal was a $49.00 crossgrade from Final Cut Studio v1.0 package... It was not free.

I am guessing that if you asked apple about this, they would say that the seller would have to release their copy of FCS 1 to you also.

Boyd Ostroff
May 30th, 2007, 04:50 PM
I think Matt is correct. See:

http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/finalcutstudio51.pdf

Updates: If an Apple Software update completely replaces (full install) a previously licensed version of the Apple Software, you may not use both versions of the Apple Software at the same time nor may you transfer them separately.

So if somebody upgrades from FCS 5.0 to FCS 5.1 then they cannot sell their copy of 5.0. And if they upgrade from 5.1 to 6.0 they cannot sell their copy of 5.1. I don't think the cost of the upgrade has anything to do with it unfortunately. Apple made it clear the 5.1 upgrade was a limited time special offer.

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't bother to upgrade my copy of FCP 5.0 to FCS 5.1 either. And I don't especially regret it since the software I now have meets my needs. We also seem to have a number of posts about capture and dropped frame issues on version 5.1, so I'm not sure how much you're missing...
