I'm thinking about it.

It's a v1, but I would price it accordingly. Do you have a particular offer?

Does this head also fit on a regular tripod, not bowl, by removing the bowl part. My best tripods are not bowl.

how about a hint on the price range?

Jordan Elliott
March 11th, 2007, 07:47 PM
No it does not. Unlike a number of Manfrotto fluid heads, the bowl half-ball on the Gitzo is not removable. Depending on your requirements for a tripod, there are some farely inexpensive 75mm/100mm tripods out there.

Check out the Manfrotto 3182 (3181 = silver), they run about $250-300. They have a 75mm bowl, max height of 61", and holds 40 lbs. B&H doesn't carry the legs seperately, but EVS or Samy's carry them.

regards,

jordan

I have a very nice carbon fiber 75mm bowl tripod, but prefer my other Bogens. Thanks very much for the additional information.

Hello Guy,
I have a shoot in April with a Canon XL-2. Let me know...

Steven Davis

Does that include the fluid head?

Yeah, what he said.

Christo Aaron
March 12th, 2007, 08:08 AM
Might you have a fluid head and sticks for that XL-2 available?

Christo Aaron
March 12th, 2007, 08:13 AM
I was originally converting back to the DVX because of its smaller size, as compared to the XL2. I plan on shooting primarily with a 35 adapter, so I need a camera that is smaller, so when I add on the rails, FF, adapter, mattebox, etc. it evens itself out.

Now I am looking into the FX1 or Z1u instead of the DVX.
Have you considered the Canon HDV-20 with that Red Micro 35? A small stealth size w/1080 24p. April release.

Does that include the fluid head?

Geez. Tough crowd. These sticks are in perfect condition, and I'm selling them at about 60% of my cost which itself was discounted.

The 3251 sticks alone ran $316.00 from BHPhoto with shipping:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=Search&A=details&Q=&sku=5537&is=REG&addedTroughType=search

They were used twelve times, never out doors.

No fluid head.

Daniel Patton
March 12th, 2007, 10:27 AM
JCV assured us that we could do our upgrade anytime, although I'm sure they preferred we get on with it. This can be done prior to you receiving it.
Note: we have not had any issues with the camera related to the upgrades, so it's never been a big issue to send it in. Nothing near the issue of having gone when we need it.

You can contact me through my profile by clicking on my name.
