Thank you, got it.

Is it Pal or NTSC, or is it dual system?

Not sure if it is dual, I am NTSC. Charles may know? just remember that the link to the picture Charles gave you is a single not a dual arm (like the picture I sent you). If you want to check out some of Charles' Steadicam (and other Masters) try www.Steadishots.org

Sorry Michael, didn't read from the beginning to learn that you had your arm upgraded by Robert (folks, he is THE MAN when it comes to Steadicam brand arms so you know that if he's done the work, it's done right) That's a good setup for an SK, that single section arm was a head-scratcher for sure (used one a few times back in the '90s).

Hi Oleg:

There have been a number of great directors that I've had the pleasure to work with. I wish that my time with the Coen Brothers wasn't limited to one short day; Frank Darabont was amazing, very smart guy; Mike Judge was a lot of fun. There have been a number of TV directors whose names aren't "household" but were really talented and knew how to use Steadicam, we came up with some great shots.

My rig is a hybrid of various manufacturers: PRO, XCS, Steadyrig, Klassen and some custom parts. It started as a PRO but I have added and switched around things over the years and I am quite satisfied with it. See pic below for a reasonably good view of it.

Thanks Charles for your input and expertise. Not only does he do great work he is one of the most stand-up guys I know, always took as much time explaining things to me as I wanted to spend.

Thanks

How does this compare with the Redrock m2? Would it work for a Sony V1U?
I would also be using it on a Canon XH-A1

Michael Stewart
December 24th, 2007, 01:26 AM
Hi Larry, it works on anything that has 72mm threads (or if you have a step down or up ring it will work on others, this one is setup already for an XHA1. I believe it is rated with only a half fstop loss, I liked it better than the Red rock just from the loss and the compact size. Check out Cinevate .com

yeah, I know.
Oh well.

The Hd200 can be purchase without the lens right? So someone looking for a HD200 might want to buy your lens with a new body and save some money. Maybe you can market it that way?

I can't think who else would want this lens--since most people with a JVC already own it.

I can always gut the lens to salvage the lens mount ;o)
Would really like to get a machine shop to build an adapter to mount Canon FD lenses on my HD110.
Pretty expensive lens mount tho'.

The arm alone sells for $5000 used at tiffen http://www.steadicam.com/steadiUsed.html,
extra camera plate (which is new) is $180, Hytrons and Titan Twin go used in this condition for $700, Cages $800, training tapes $150, Pelican case $100, there is $6930 right there "used prices" and that does not account for the sled and vest, C-stand with bracket, and extra Gold Mount. Here is the link to the price list from Tiffen (new prices of course).

I first purchased a Glidecam V16, returned it (faulty workmanship) purchased this and it was night and day, once you go Steadicam you'll never go back :)

Unfortunately I'm selling all my video equipment including my Canon EF 100-400mm lens. I tried selling this lens on Ebay with no luck so I thought I'd try here before re-listing. Here's the old listing with the info and pics http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330198046083&ssPageName=STRK:MEUS:IT&ih=014
This lens worked beautifully for me using my EOS adapter and an Canon XL1S camera. There are a few small blemishes on the glass itself but because the center of the glass is still in great condition it didn't effect the footage I got out of this lens. I'll be trying to post more(better) pics soon and maybe even some video clips showing how well this lens worked for me and my XL1S. It comes with everything stated and shown in the Ebay listing. I'm looking to get $900 for it. Payment will be made through Paypal. Any questions just ask.
Thanks,
Joe Thatcher

ENG-style Fluorescent ringlight, dimmable with both Tungesten and Daylight balanced tubes. Don't believe the LED hype yet - Fluorescent is still much brighter and more efficient. Plus you get true daylight AND true tungsten without gels. The spread and look of fluorescent is much more pleasing than LED, plus you don't get waffle-pattern shadows. (Believe me, I looked and really wanted the LED..seemed "cooler" but just didn't have the same output).

I'm selling because I haven't used it in months, and don't really need it.

Comes with:

Kamio Light
Ballast
Ballast Hot-Shoe Mount
Flexo Ring Mount - to allow you to mount to any camera, not just big lenses
- consists of noga arm, ring mount, stand adapter
Cavision 15mm Rail Kit
Cavision mount to Kamio ring - simple setup for HDV/Mini DV style cameras
Cables (incl. Kamio - 4pin XLR and Cigarette Lighter)
2 x 7AH SLA Batteries
1 x quick charger for batteries
Aluminum Case

$1500 value

$900+shipping (paypal)

Completely unrelated:
I also have a factory certified JL Audio 450/4 Amp and Eclipse 10" Aluminum Subwoofer in Sealed box for sale (professionally built by AMS of Madison, WI). $500 + shipping (the amp alone is worth $800). As long as I'm cleaning house...

I have sold a bunch of stuff on here - check the archives. All my kit is well kept and everyone who has bought my gear has walked away happy. Thanks for looking.

Michael, still would like to know if the monitor is multisystem, will it work with Pal camera?

Regards, Oleg.

Michael Stewart
December 25th, 2007, 07:16 AM
Hi Oleg,......... read back a few responses, it is not natively switchable it is either sold as NTSC or PAL, this one is NTSC. I have never had a need to do it, but I imagine it can be switched, not sure. Just remember the main purpose of the monitor is framing, not focus, 90% of the time I can only see the shape of the person because of bright sunlight. I was almost tempted at one time to install a 16x9 LCD on top of the existing screen because I still needed the weight and I could always revert back to the original green screen.
