View Full Version : ef-s lenses and 35mm adapter Jason Hakala January 18th, 2006, 07:29 PM does anyone know if canon ef-s lenses will work with the ef adapters of the 35mm adapters?? i know the xl to ef doesn't. thanks jason Bill Porter January 19th, 2006, 01:28 AM Jason, Not compatible. These lenses have a smaller image circle than normal EF lenses, which is not at all what you want when using a 35mm adapter. Also the focal distance from lens to focal plane (in your case, ground glass or whatever) is different from normal EF lenses. That's why the "S" is in EF-S... It stands for "short back-focus." Sorry! Jason Hakala January 19th, 2006, 01:39 AM thanks bill for killing the dream i had. hhehe j/k thanks for the response :) Bill Porter January 19th, 2006, 11:05 AM Hehe FD/FL stuff works great and to the best of my knowledge, all of it is manual focus. Some EF lenses can't be adjusted manually for things like zoom and aperture, and must be connected to a camera. |
