Hey Tim, you mentioned that Fuji would have a 2/3 adapter for the HD100U so we can use the top of the line HD lenses. Will that also allow me to use the Canon 2:35.1 adapter which uses 2/3? See http://www.canon-europe.com/TV-Products/Products/AVC_Converter.asp?ComponentID=237551&SourcePageID=33109

I hope so, as it will be AWESOME!!! Maybe even connect it to my Mini35 as long as it doesn't lose more light or quality.

PS> Do you have a link to the Fuji adapter?

Hey Duke,

I have no idea how the anamorphic squeeze would affect the image when used on the 1/3" CCD. It would make for an interesting experiment.

The 2/3" to 1/3" adapter is made by Fujinon and is known as the ACM-17. I think it retails for around $1000, but it isn't listed on the U.S. JVC website yet so who knows?

Here is an interesting pdf that has a chart of effective FOV comparisons for 1/3" to 2/3"

http://www.jvcpro.co.uk/getResource2/jvc_highway_2.pdf?id=6201

Look at the sixth page "Lens Combinations explained in numbers." BTW, they have a typo for the ACM-17. It should read '1/3" to 2/3" bayonet mount adapter.'

On the last page of that magazine JVC retracts the earlier suggestion of releasing a C-mount to 1/3" bayonet adapter. I'm still having one made for my 35mm relay lens. We'll see how it goes.

As always, thanks. When are you gonna be in the Los Angeles area?

When are they gonna release the Dr-100-80. I've been waiting so long for it.

I've been too busy up here. I may not even make it to LV for NAB this year.

My dealer just told me two days ago that he was told "soon." We've all heard that before though.

Hey guys, great discussion.

I'm thinking. If there will be a 2/3 mount for the HD100. Then you can use the PRO35 adaptor. I don't know much about the MINI35 but it looks like a huge gear.

I believe the Pro35 is MUCH more money, like $27K, and may not be more useful on a 1/3 chip with a 2/3 chip conveerter. I.e there may be no difference. I think the only difference between the Pro35 and Mini35 is the adapter. I don't believe the glass is much different, but that is a question for P+S or ZGC.
