Just bought a Steadicam Jr on ebay for $100. It did not include the weights or mounting screws so I've left a message with Tiffen, but...while I wait and wonder whether any replacement parts are still available, can I use a standard camera screw to mount with? Or does the Jr really use special screws. I'm using this with an FX-1, which I assume is not included in their 'cookbook'. Any recommendations there? And I didn't get a video either. Hopefully, Tiffen sells this stuff separately, but if not, I'm hoping someone on this board might help. Anyway, I can't wait to give this a try so the lack of hardware is driving me nuts!!!

Speak to Frank Rush at Tiffen, he will get you everything you need for that JR.

BH Photo also has some accessories for the JR.

Hopefully you got the VHS Training tape with it.

John, thanks for the quick reply. I did indeed leave a message with Frank, hopefully he will respond soon. And no, the VHS tape did not come with it. I'm just hoping that the parts prices aren't too high and they are readily available. I have deduced from the boards that the FX-1 is slightly above the max weight, even with a light barttery and no accessories. I'm hoping this will all work out...

The parts kit is around $30 for the weights, cable....etc. I had to purchase it not too long ago.

Tim, thanks for the reply. I left a message for Frank a few days ago and haven't heard back. It's reassuring to know that they are available and relatively inexpensive. Who at Tiffen (if that's where you got it) did you connect with for the order?

Frank had me talk with Harry, and forgive me but I don't remember Harry's last name.

Thanks Tim. I'll call Tiffen and see if I can find a "Harry" in the parts dept.
