Thanks to the help from some of you guys here on this
great forum I´ve maneged to complete my 35mm apparatus.

With some modifications on the apparatus since my last post
(a plano convex lens) I´m finally satisfied with the imige results.

Here´s a test shoot with the new DVX100BE and my apparatus.
You might notice some flicker in the imiges but it´s due to the CD
spinners lack of battery, so never mind that.

Results are much better, arn't they? I think your next step is to improve on your ground glass as i think the footage is a little soft. So your using a sandpapered CD and CD motor?

Since you also are using a cd-spinner (the "classic approach"..) and live in Sweden like me, what plano convex lens (brand/model) do you use and where did you buy it? I feel that it's the only thing that my setup lacks.

When it comes to softness, cd-spinners are soft, but I've noticed differences between different makes. Anyway, I like it soft!

I've had similar problems with bad batteries, a virtual dub plugin called MSU Deflicker, http://www.compression.ru/video/deflicker/index_en.html , saved me! It's the best deflicker I've ever tried.

I ordered my lens from anchor optics webbsite, it was delivered in perfect condition one week after, price only 250 SPÄNN inkl shipment.

I was not sure excactly wish lens to get so I took a chance, since it wasn´t to expensive after all.

I use a plano convex 60 mm dia with 63 mm focal length and it works great.
I think its good to get a lens with anti-reflection coating, those are marked with "CTD".

sticking to the cd design will limit the ways in which to make your ground glass.

Some ways I tried many moons ago with my old cd spinner prototype where:

This gives an even frosted surface but suffers from a little bit more light loss.

Two more questions after having a closer look.

First, where did you find that plastic case? I've looked at various electronic stores like Elfa, but haven't found a suitable one. What are the measures?

Second, at the end of the clip, I see some purple "bleeding" at the edges of the caravan. Is it because of the compression, or the lens?
