when I slide the videomic into the hot shoe mount on the camera(GS400) it is loose as can be.....directions say turn the knarled wheel to tighten but it does not travel far enough to tighten it into place. It wobbles and slides back and forth within the shoe because of this. I realize that the shock mount is supposed to wobble but the slide that fits into the shoe isn't.........or is it.

The knarled wheel should travel all the way down and lock against its own shoe when it's not installed in a shoe mount. If it doesn't you have a defect. If it does then you must be turning it the wrong way when you install it :>)

IT'S NOW FIXED!!!!! Thanks for the reply Fred. I noticed that the top of the knarled wheels inside threads were not machined completely thru to the top(where it meets the actual shock mount) This prevented the barrel (that would clamp down on the accessory camera shoe) on the bottom of the wheel from going all the way down. So I forced the wheel to turn beyond where the threads stopped which completed the machining the rest of the way. The wheel now has full travel and I secures nicely in my GS400 accessory shoe. Thanks for the help.
