And by awesome, I mean totally sweet.
Nothing important here, just wanted to expel some more energy since I bought a Z1P today and am over-the-moon happy with it. I've barely put it down since I brought it home.
I also wanted to thank everyone here who answered my questions and filled me in on world of HDV and helped in leading me to the Z1.
Regards,

I'm glad you posted that - that's the kind of stuff I plan on doing.
I have no company, work for nobody, and forked out a large part of my savings on this baby to make movies and seeing that makes me feel all the more comfortable that I've made a good choice.

pretty sure it was FCP
Does anyone know how to edit z1 footage to looks so 24fps like and so filmic? I'm thinking about getting a z1 and if I knew that, that would clinch it.

One of those links posted above had an interview with the director and the director of photography (not sure if it's called director of photography since only video cameras were involved) and they said that they shot in 50i and edited at 25fps in FCP and then de-interlaced which removed one frame per second, making it 24fps.
This seems to be a perfectly simple solution to me. I am miles off trying it though; has anyone here had a go at this? Or has anyone here gone that final step and transferred their Z1 footage to film?

A recent issue of DV Magazine (December I think) had an article by John Jackman about transfering Z1 footage to film. They also shot 50i, then sent clips to two different labs and arranged a screening for several DOP's to observe. The article is on their site here:
