!!

In terms of using this with a DVX (7.8 lbs including battery) would this be possible? Not using the motor turn thing but Just sticking it on a wonderpole?

Do you reckon a tripod mount could be added to the pole?

lol this is the beginning of the end of my DVX.

rented one for one project couple of months back. it fly very well and moving it around was easy. we have the jib set on a libec tripod. we have a little problem with wind. but the biggest complain i have was with the operator. he did not setup the camera correctly and some of the footages recorded did not turn out as expected.

This looks so simple. It's a great idea. But I have many questions and ideas now, about this pole cam.

From what I see, if you have RC parts, cheapo X10 wireless cam, and k'nex kit, you could probably get away with building it very cheaply. But then again, you get what you pay for.

Looks like there is a bit more involved in the one on the website. A PC wireless card, an interface to control the pan/tilt, zoom, focus as well as send video signal back to the computer.

If you have a remote control for the cam, you can take care of the on/off, zoom, and start/stop of video. Distance might be a factor too.

For $150 I don't think thats much at all. I might want to add this to my tool box as well. Pretty cool gadgets!

Here is another no-so-cheap method of high flyer photography.
