Survey: HVX200 Firmware upgrade in the future? Do you want it?

This thread is not to put blame on the HVX200, Panasonic or to do any flaming of any sort; it's a Survey for professionals.

It's obvious the HVX200 is doing a whole ton " AMAZING " features in a small size professional HD camera. They have squeezed quite a lot inside.

Anyone who uses software or plays video games knows that you can't catch all the issues in V 1.0. After a few months, weeks or even days of user feed back they collect the errors and do updates.

Well the HVX200 is software driven. The HVX200 was going through revs 1-2-3 & 4 was less than a month before the street date.

What if there was a 4.01 or 5 rev in a month or so offered to HVX200 owners. If Panasonic was willing to offer a few software upgrades over the next few months as our feed back is posted; would you feel more comfortable about buying the HVX200 today instead of a few months from now or longer?

That's the question:

My answer to this Survey is, YES.

If I knew that we could get the SW updates for a short while over time; I would 100% have no problem in putting trust in a HVX200 purchase today. I believe in the camera. I thinks it's awesome. But you can't get all the bugs out until it gets a few months in the field as a fully shipping 100% model and professional users start reporting their findings. This is not a basic small size video camera.

It's a small size Professional HD Camera with a lot of features and functions all interacting inside with one another.

YES!

We need some sort of satisfaction being an early adopter.
You brought up a good point about all the rev changes nearing the ship date.

Here are m concerns,
1. Are we going going worry about block noise hanging on the edge of our black level. I'm worried about these type of artifacts.

2. Low light noise level. Some recent examples show the the camera seems to display more noise than I anticipated.

Awesome! I never saw this post. On the Varicam we did SW updates. If they are offering this, that is great. Has Jan commented on this?

Yes - absolutely.
With things developing so quickly these days it's a nonsense to expect customers to buy a new camera.

Panasonic listen: YES! And if you can get a Magic Bullet plugin in camera, that would be cool, even for some extra money!
