Here is a teaser for the new Gerard Elmore short "Barry", using the Sony HDR-FX1 with Letus35a adapter and Nikon 35mm SLR prime lenses.

We used 24mm, 28mm, 35mm, 55mm, 85mm, 105mm, and 200mm Nikon SLR lenses.

It was edited in Final Cut Pro 5 and the G Film Bleach Bypass plug-in was
used.

Erm Dustin, it was rather cool, but it seems that the in the trailer at least, you may need to crop or zoom in a little more, because I can see the edges!!

Yea, I am waiting for everything to be finished before we blow it up 10% to hide the sides of the ground glass.

Here are the lenses from memory.

24mm - open from above
55mm - medium of Barry cutting coke
85mm - CU of barry snorting
cut back and forth between those two for a couple cuts
105mm - rack to car driving up
35mm - Barry walking into focus to look out the window
105mm - people getting out of car
55mm - Barry looking out window
85mm - putting coke on table
105mm - holding hands and walking
85mm - pouring out coke
105mm - opening door
105mm - knocking
55mm - Barry telling them to come in

I am pretty sure that is which lens was used for each shot. We shot everything at f4 - f1.2, which made some things difficult. I think I need to find a good fast 20mm lens so I can get a little more DoF at f4.

The footage looks great, and not just from the 35mm. Nice shot composition for the interiors. I got the FX1, and I can't wait to try it with a 35mm adapter. (I don't have that many lenses though... :) )
