Hey guys this is my first time exporting back to tape with HDV and the Z1u with final cut 5, When I go to edit to tape I get an error message saying HDV is not supported by edit to tape.
anyone know the correct setting and procedure? I have herd of people exporting back to tape with HDV and final cut 5. I am not being progressive with my efforts. please help. Thanks.

Try doing a "print to video" instead of edit to tape. I haven't worked with a lot of HDV so I'm not sure the settings but they should be similar to your capture settings I think.
