View Full Version : Underwater -- included or separate?

At one point not too long ago I had talked to Paul Wags about hosting a forum dedicated to underwater videography, and I'm curious to know if this wouldn't be the best place for those discussions (hence the temporary title "Under Water, Over Land") -- do you guys feel that underwater should be a separate board? After all, wildlife is wildlife no matter if on land or sea, right? There are some excellent underwater videography forums elsewhere on the net, I wouldn't feel right trying to compete with them, but I'm completely open to any suggestions you guys might have. If we keep everything under one roof. then I'll go fetch Paul Wags' threads and other underwater topics and move them in here.

FWIW, my personal leaning is to keep Outdoor/Nature/Adventure all under one roof. IF any of them outgrow a forum, they could then be split but I doubt that would happen, at least not soon.

Hi Chris and Pete.

I agree with Pete, keep it all under one roof.

Merry Xmas

Sounds best to me. If a population explosion overcrowds the forum later, that would be the time for a split. In the meantime, the more posts, the better. All the different factions can better support the single forum in its fledgling stage.

Looking at this over a year on it seems that the underwater crowd have not really taken to the forum. A lot of the more serious underwater videographers hang out at Wetpixel. This forum is dominated by topside natural history video which is so different from underwater.

Just wondering if it might be worth reviewing whether to split it.
