Im useing a rode video mic and a Panasonic PV-GS150....

But the mic seems a little too hot... its redicoulously sensitive, i can hear my actors part their lips ect ect..

Ive gotten pretty good results mixing in post, but room noise is a little too much ive had to lay blankets down to get rid of a lot of echo...

any one have similar experiances?

You have no audio level adjust on the GS150 and you can't turn off AGC. The Videomic output level so hot that it drives the GS150's AGC into saturation. You need an inline attenuator or a headphone volume control to reduce the audio level into the GS150. Go to Radio Shack and buy a headphone volume control. They are about $5. Plug the mic into the volume control and the volume control into the camcorder. Do your level adjustments before you start shooting using headphones so you can hear the audio. Don't adjust during shooting or you'll get noise as you move the volume control. For a more professional approach, buy or build a 20 dB inline attenuator or use a mixer/XLR adapter like Beachtek, Sign Video or Signal1.
