The programming spans from the 1950s to the present, including shows from "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," "Dragnet," USA Network's "Monk," the Sci-Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica," and NBC's hit series "Law & Order." Sketches from "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" are also for sale.

It doesn't make sense not to get your content out through a "new" medium. It's like found money for the networks.

It has begun! I look forward to the new viewing world...

Every Sat Night Live skit ever for $.99 each perhaps?
Daily Show sketches?
Comedians?

I still say that this thing will really take off when they put a speaker on the iPod and get the shorter, more viral content signed on. Once people can share their media, this will be huge. Not that it isn't anways...:-)

Oh, can't wait for every episode of Seinfeld, either.

I was watching the SciFi channel last night and they're already advertising iTunes downloads of Battlestar Galactica....

And now it appears that HBO is working on a deal to deliver video content via iTunes:

"I'm very excited by the video iPod," said Chris Albrecht. "At some point, I think we would have some arrangement with them."

Jay Leno already noted this (as near as I can recall): "Who's going to pay to watch NBC shows when they won't watch them for free?!"

Well that's my personal opinion as well (not just NBC, but any of the networks). However iTunes has sold several million video downloads since Apple introduced the video iPod.

Personally I don't want one, but my daughter does, so I've entered into a joint venture with Santa Claus to fulfill her Christmas wish (don't tell her ;-). Now I have one sitting on my shelf still in its shrink wrap after a week. I suppose I should check it out just to see how it looks...

I'm surprised that Disney didn't make any content available in time for Christmas. They could have sold ALOT of ANYTHING. As the only real choices for childrens content that exist at this moment are 5 films by Pixar. I've got an iPod myself and like it so much I bought one for the daughter of one of my friends for a Christmas present. Hmmm... maybe she'll just have to learn to like Battlestar Galactica ;)
