Dante Waters December 4th, 2005, 06:49 PM Ok I'm doing a wedding For a friend On Dec 18
I recieved $150 as a deposit.
What I have soo far is the following:
- Sennheiser Evolution G2 100 Series
- Sony VX2100
- Renting a VX2000 (for help) from a friend
- My friend has an iriver (would like to borrow it)
- Beachtek XLR
Considering:
- Sony NP-QM91D - http://tinyurl.com/76y8v
- Giant Squid 3 foot - http://www.giant-squid-audio-lab.com/gs/gs-mono1.htm
Anything else??
Remember there's a $150 budget
Thanks
Dante Waters December 4th, 2005, 08:46 PM Well I guess all things are in order...
I'll just go ahead and move forward, thanks for at least viewing my post...
Curt Talbot December 4th, 2005, 09:31 PM Dante, I don't think the battery you are looking at is the one you want. I believe the VX2100 uses an L series battery.
If you don't have a mic you might consider the Videomic from Rode.

John Rakis December 5th, 2005, 12:03 AM I would strongly recommend using a tripod to record the ceremony. The reception can be shot hand-held.
Chris Hurd December 5th, 2005, 01:11 AM Agreed. Don't even think of shooting the ceremony without a tripod.

Oh yeah guys thanks... I have a bogen with a 501 head
Peter Jefferson December 5th, 2005, 03:46 AM 150 deposit?? how much was the package??
do u really think 2 cams is worth the post work???
Even if its a friends wedding thats ok, but dont dig a hole too deep..
Id say rent a tripod for now, and shoot only the ceremony and speeches with 2 cams (borrow one if u have to)
Dont spend more than you have to...
good luck
John Bennett December 5th, 2005, 09:25 AM An on-camera light is useful for the reception, especially for the first dance and cake cutting. Check out the Bescor lights at B&H for under $100 including battery.
Rick Steele December 5th, 2005, 09:49 AM I also question the "M" series battery. Should be "L" series?

Well when I purchased the vx it came with this accessory booklet and that particular battery is in there, so that's the one I'm going with.

Well, you probably know what you're doing. I just bring this up because if you go here:
http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?CategoryName=&ProductSKU=NPQM91D&TabName=comp&var2=
It doesn't list the VX as being compatible with the NP-QM91D Battery.

Man I'll have to get some extra cash before the wedding, because after the battery purchase I'll have but soo much left
Rick Steele December 5th, 2005, 03:16 PM Or you could buy this slightly cheaper replacement. It's also listed under the accessories tab of the VX2100
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=cart_accessories&A=details&Q=&sku=381979&is=REG&addedTroughValue=_&addedTroughType=accessory
I bought 2 last week. Never used them though. They have the same specs as the Sony's.

Just got home... wish I had waited for you response... everything with tax cost me $113.74
battery time out the box was 281min (viewfinder open)
Not too bad considering what I use to get before.
