Hi, this is probably a stupid question but I am wondering.

Will this 3058 legs at full height with a 503 head pan smoothly? I figure at that extension the tripod would not be very stable. I am hoping I am wrong. Does anyone own these legs? Are they stable at maximum height with a 503 head?

I have a set of 3063 (I think that's the #) legs, which are basically similar to yours...

...and yes, at full extension, they are subject to some torsion and movement.

The one-into-two-into three-type legs tend to be more stable at extension.

Thank you for your reply and information. Sometimes I need to have my tripod taller by about 2 feet and I am considering what to do. I am going to Home Depot to build a riser for my tripod and save some money.

I have a 3058 tripod and I've had no problems with torsion when fully extended, that is not to say there isn't any, just that there has'nt been any visible issues with the content. I have never envied another tripod, the thing is great!
