has anyone ever tried to stick a macro adapter on an XM2 (GL2)? If so can anyone recomend a solution? cheers,

You're aware the camera already has a built-in macro mode, right? Zoom out to full wide, add plenty of light and you can focus on an object right up to the glass of the lens.

Wow Chris! I totally didn't realize that was a capability of the GL2. Now only if I didn't have to zoom in to fill the frame when I use my Letus35...grr...

In any case, if you do need to zoom in and have a macro, the Century Optics +7 Achromatic Diopter ($200) is the best way to go.

I've used the 58mm close-up adapter kits (e.g., Hoya) sold for still photography with my GL1. They work reasonably well and if you avoid thick stacks, and do not distort excessively. They are a low cost option.

Canon offers two 58mm close-up adapter (500D-58 and 250D-58) sold for their digital still work, they are 2-element adapters (better than the low cost kits). I've used the 500D-58 and it does a nicer job on the GL1. They both should work well on the GL2.

The advanatage of ther adapters over macro mode is that you retain zoom capability and they give you some stand-off distance that allows lighting the subject.
