Very nice.

Maybe adding something birthday-ish (i.e.; birthday cake w/a candle on it, etc...).

Good job. What did you use to shoot, edit, etc... with?

Thanks, Andrew. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been working on this for the past couple of days. All images and videoclips in this are from 2002-2006. The still images were taken in both The Netherlands and also in Russia (on various different digital cameras...most of them on my Sony DSC-V1, some of them from her Sony DSC-T1, one from a cheap disposable film camera, and a few from her friends in Moscow). The videoclips were all filmed on the camcorder that I had at the time, a Sony DCR-TRV17 MiniDV HandyCam. The first two videoclips that you see (the ones that are side-by-side) were filmed in Manchester, Vermont in September 2002 (the one on the left) and in Moscow, Russia in late October 2003 (the one on the right, and also the one at the very end of the clip).

This video was edited on Final Cut Express HD 3.5, using LiveType for titles and Soundtrack for royalty-free music. This is also the first time I've ever tried experimenting with motion effects (resizing and moving the images all over the place).

CLICK HERE to see an HD clip from my upcoming educational video series (http://www.brandyseymour.com/video/jvc_hd.wmv)

This is an 18 meg, 1280x720 Windows Media Video 9 download shot with the JVC HD-110 HDV camera, edited in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 with the 15 day free trial of Cineform's ASpectHD codec. There is a great deal of compression to get this as a web download, but it still looks pretty sharp and maintains a lot of picture information.

Dig it.

I did not run Magic Bullet or anything, no. I thought it was balanced as is. There's a similar tint to everything.

This isn't exactly "showing" my work, since it is audio, not video, but I figured it was the most likely place to put this.

My wife's younger sister requested an interesting Christmas present this year. She asked me to record all 16 chapters of Romans from the New International Version of the New Testament.

I had a feeling it would take a while to do, and I was right. But now that it is done, I have posted a zip file with MP3 versions of all 16 chapters.

http://download.yousendit.com/016E40495C1E18EC

I figured I might as well share. The download will be available for a couple of weeks. I used the following site as a source: http://www.biblegateway.com/

In the unlikely event that I exceed 200 downloads, I will repost with a new URL.

I liked it, and I'm intrigued by this iStopmotion software. It looks like it's Mac OS only, so as a PC user I'm out of luck.

I'm looking to branch into clay animation as well, since my biggest upcoming project is going to be extremely diffifult to pull off with traditional stop action animation.

Yes, iStopmotion is Mac only. Works great, ven has onion skit overlays and voice activated recording for hands free capture. Also does amazing timelapse. Its really a bargain for $70 bucks!!!
Also, there is an HD version out that lets you do high-def capture using a digital still camera! Thats how the Corpse Bride was shot. Amazing stuff.

Not sure whats out there for PC. I've been out of the PC world for 5 years and I never looked back. Good luck with your project, If I can answer anystop motion questions I'd be happy to.

We are doing weekly five minute episodes. We have five on-line, but have shot 13. The process has been an absolute blast.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

That's cool. Did she want your voice in particular? I just ask because there are commercial versions of the NIV on CD and MP3 CD for reasonable costs.

Hi there Everyone,

I just finished a short film called "Chanukah vs. Christmas". It's a parody of the Mac vs. PC commercials.

It was shot with the Canon XL1 and edited in Premier Pro 1.5

I would welcome any feedback on the film.

Thanks.

That was great. I saw the Happy Kwanzaa coming but then, who didn't?

I think the Christmas guy got the spirit of the Mac/PC actor a bit better than the other fellow.

She wants her husband to do it. Getting me to do one of the books is really just a dig at him to get off his tail and get busy. So it was not my voice exactly, just that I am her brother-in-law and her husband might be inclined to step up to the plate in some form of competitve manner, I suppose.

Hi,

Just a cheesy little thing I put together a few years ago with my first camera (1 chip Canon ZR 60) and about 1 hour of filming and 8 hours of editing...

its about 30 seconds long and lame but my neighbors always get a kick out of it.

We're currently in the scripting stage of a psychological horror and i thought it would be helpfull to have a short trailer that we could show when submitting our business plan and script to scottish screen for funding. I'm hoping it will also come in handy when gathering crew.

I had to come up with somethin i could rig shoot and appear in myself, which as you can imagine limits what you can do when trying to acheive a half decent cinematic look.

Anyway have a look and let me know what you think.

I just tested the download and i was getting about 10kbs which is unacceptable, maybe you'll have better luck. If not here is another link, it will be lesser quality but what you gonna do.

:EDIT: it seems to be working now

change the video size at bottom right.

Good stuff Andy,.....

Could you tell us about your setup? cam/nle/jib/lights, etc. It looked great for what you had to work with,......actually it just looked good period. How did you achieve the first shot of the forest?.....vue? or was it real? Did you use a stabilizer? if so,....which one?

Thanks Ian, I shot it with an HD100 in DV 4:3 mode and cropped it....boring i know but it was before the 5.1.2 upgrade for FCP. The first shot was some stock footage i had shot from a small plane for a previous project and i just did a day for night colour correct on it, in fact the whole thing is day for night.

I used A cable system that i built for the tracking shots, the shot where I jump over the log i'm just pushing the rig myself before i let go. Its a very simple but effective design that allows one person to operate it. http://camerashyltd.livedigital.com/content/996856/

I did the editing in Final Cut and the type face in motion.

I took a risk with the AK47, it was a deactivated gun but still illegal to run around in public with it. It was in a woodland off the beaten track but i still wouldn't recomend it without telling the police, i was paranoid the whole time in case i got reported by a dog walker.

Thanks for the feedback Ian I appreciate it.

Andy.

I was hired by to make this short film to be used as a prelude to his proposal to his wife. They were going on a trip to Hawaii, where Sanjay was going to propose they renew their vows. He wanted to do something special to surprise her and as a set up for the proposal.

It was shot and edited on an extremely tight schedule — only a few days — with no script... only some ideas, some basic directing, and some quick and dirty editing... all the while trying to keep the project a secret from his wife, which was tricky since we needed to film her (we came up with a clever ruze: I was looking for a couple to film for a demo project).

Focusing, white balance, even lighting was pretty much a hack job due to limited time constraints. We had to shoot fast and forgo our egos' want for perfection.

I'm glad you liked it. It was shot with a Canon GL2, edited using Final Cut Pro 4.5 HD.

Well, to be honest, it was pretty long and repetitive if you don't know the people involved.

It has a nice look to it though.

I'm putting together a demo reel to help me in pursuing an editing position with the company I work for. Based on my experiece and abilities, I'm working towards an asst. editor position at best, and would love any input on what I have:

http://karatemedia.com/demoreel/

I've tried to show a variety of work, from :30 sec spots to longer interview segments. I also shot/scripted all of the content, except for the spec trailer, but I am focusing on the editing in this reel.

Thanks!
