Hi Fred
Would no dount work fine... Ty Ford, who posts on here, has said some good stuff about this mic...

I've an FX1 and use an AT897 mic with it...as does Uk based (ex BBC) TV cameraman Robin Rollinson...

with the second option you'll need an XLR adapter.. Beachtek or other...

Cheers

This is an awesome microphone for the price. I have one and am very happy with it. It has a surprisingly full sound. There is a review of it on the VASST site: The new Rode' VideoMic (http://www.vasst.com/search.aspx?text=rode). Ty talks about it in this recent thread: Bought a RODE videomic! (http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=54180).

Hello,

Would this mic be a possible choice as a boom mic (on a fishpole) for recording dialogue ??? (forgive my lack of audio knowledge) i am looking for a fairly inexpensive mic to XLR hardwire to my FX1 to use as a boom..

Hi Mike

I think you'd be better off with an AT897 as a fairly cheap boom mic...AT do good shock mounts too... I use one on the same camera and it works fine...

cheers
