Hi

My screen displays in my xl2 flickering while recording in 16x9 mode. I just wonder whether that is the way it should be , as it does not happen while recording in 3x4 mode.

I'm guessing that you're refering to the letterbox area. I have always had this same "problem" read through this and see if it helps

Almost all of the horizontal line in the actual fram like the horizontal line in the Centre marker, the bottom line of the battery icon, the bottom horizontal line of the Recording reminder etc... flicker in the 16x9 mode... Is it the standard...?

If it only flickers in the display it no problem, ob mine it flickers only at the upper edge In my case it does not bother me. You may Want to give Canon a call to make sure.
