I recently had a chance to shoot a wedding using a friends VX2000 and was very impressed, i was wondering though, how does it compare to the GL2? any light differences? umm, how about overall quality? i know that there will be a lot of biased answers, but if u could just let me know each of y'alls experiences with the two, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Also, on a different note, I have a 12" powerbook 1.33 ghz and was wondering if there was anyone out there with a dual processor Mirror door drive they are wanting to get rid of, if so, would u be interested in trading? i really need a powerful desktop to do my editing and was just kinda curious.

Craig having owned and used both cameras I feel the VX2000 is superior for wedding/event work. It's got 1/3" ccds vs the Canon's 1/4". In addition to that the low-light capability of the VX is worlds above the GL. That said I still think the GL is a great camera. In fact I like the smaller footprint. If they are similar prices definitly go with the VX over the GL.

If weddings are your target I will second Glen. You will be constantly battling low light and you NEED a low light cam. The VX/PD has got the edge there. Unless you want to start toting around lights and run a cam light (ugh).

i just shot a wedding using my GL2 and my buddys VX2000.

Even though i love my GL2 , the VX2000 saved the shoot cuz of it's low light ability.
I got the GL2 when i was doing action sports videography and it's a great camera. It's been rock solid for me, the 20X is great for outdoors but for weddings, VX2000.
