With the demise of Fry's Electronics and a few local component shops that also shutdown in recent years, I'm totally clueless where to source components these days?

I've always built my own systems rather than be stuck with off-the-shelf offerings from DELL, HP, Alienware etc. I'd rather choose my own components and get precisely what I need rather than waste money on stuff that either doesn't cut it or, would have to upgrade after purchase.

Thought about NewEgg or other web sources but they never seemed to be reliable with quality parts. Definitely NOT doing eBay or Amazon, don't want counterfeit nonsense.

Any suggestions?

Locally Microtech Computers, https://www.microtechpdx.com/ , has been around for 37 years providing parts and systems to the Portland area.Very competent and friendly people.

If you know what you want, ebay and Amazon work pretty well.
