Hi, I have to lend my son an old GH4 for a children's party shoot (all other cameras are being used elsewhere). I was hoping to tether the camera to a pc so the parents could see the pictures. I didn't realise that the Panasonic Tether software doesn't work with pre-GH5 cameras.

So, I set about looking for something I could use and came across Promote Systems USB Tether software. I have installed the demo and it pretty much satisfies the basic requirements. However, when I come to click 'purchase a licence' it takes me to a 404 not found page. I'm guessing that Promote Systems no longer exists. Any idea how I might get a licence? I have emailed them, but received no reply.

Alternatively, are there any other solutions for tethering a GH4?

Thanks for any advice.

Well, I did get an answer from the developers:

"Unfortunately we no longer sell or support USB Tether and have no more codes.
I know that's disappointing and am sorry not to be more helpful."

What might have been more helpful was if they put something on their website to explain this. Or perhaps edited their download page so that when people download it they are doing so in the full knowledge that it will only work for a 14 day trial period. Or if they put the software in the public domain perhaps?

As it happens, during my trial, the software fell over after 9 pictures, so not sure I would want to pay for it anyway.

Sad, really, but I guess we shouldn't stand in the way of progress and ditch all cameras that are 8 years old . . .
