I've a number of GY-HM cameras in my studio - 700s, although to get there there were 100 and 200 series before. Anyway - I'm away from home for a couple of months and have two of the cameras with me. I saw on ebay a guy selling a lens - I saw wide angle ⅓" bla bla and put an offer in, £75 less than his asking price. Brand new - bought for a project but never out of the box and when it arrived, this was absolutely correct. I plonked it on a camera instead of the other, and powered up. all worked great so turned it off. Today I finished with the current project so had both in the office and thought I'd check how wide it went.
Confusion set in. Wide on both was so close I was confused. I'd bought a normal lens - just the 17:1 Fuji version of the 14:1 Canons on the others. So I went back to the advert - not a mention of wide and the 17:1 spec was so obvious - so I have a lens that goes run closer, and no wider. The total opposite of what I thought I'd bought. I suppose I will pop it on ebay and at some point somebody might buy it, or maybe put one of the Canons there instead.
Anyone else been stupid with purchases because they simply didn't read the ad properly! Not even thinking of returning it because it's totally my fault! I'm simply stupid!
