Any tips for repairing this mic's cable? The mic is barely used yet evidently the little cable got crimped near the base of the mic.

I'd contact Sennheiser customer service and arrange to send it to them for repair.

Sennheiser repair is the best route if you can spare the mic. But if you're handy with wire strippers and a soldering iron, and you have enough space between the mic and the crimp to work with, it shouldn't be hard repair and you could send it in later.

Thank you for the tips. I've only had the mic six weeks and I'm disappointed to discover how wimpy the cable appears to be. I was on my second use of the mic when it started cutting out. I'm really not sure, actually, if this is a warranty issue or a usage issue. I really don't believe I've been rough or mishandled the mic/cable. When not using the mic, I keep it in the case Sennheiser provided in a padded camera case. If this is a usage issue, I'd have to say the mic is pretty worthless in its ability to withstand routine handling. Are cable problems common?

Not a common problem as far as I know. Also, it should take a hell of a bend or a lot of repeated bending to break a wire inside. so it likely is a warranty issue. Therefore, sending it in seems like a beter choice than voiding the warranty by trying to fix it yourself.

I'll try the warranty repair/replacement route then and hope that Sennheiser is responsive and quick.
