It's some time since I didn't use my HDV camera, and the battery contacts seem to have oxidized.

Which is the best way to clean those small cylindrical contacts.

Good quality switch cleaner does the trick. I'm not sure about specific brands in your country, sorry. To clean the crud off, alcohol works pretty well.

If the battery was left on the camera during the storage period and was the cause of this "oxidization" then that oxidization is probably an alkaline accumulation. Lithium is an alkali. To clean the terminals use White Vinegar and a fine bristle old toothbrush, or it could be new toothbrush for that matter:) Don't drown the connections though. Then use a piece of old soft cotton, something like old "T-shirt" material as that works quite well, to dry the connections out. It might take a few goes at it if the alkaline buildup is considerable. White Vinegar is acidic and will help free, clean, and neutralize the alkaline deposit. If all successful then hit the contacts with some electrical contact cleaner/lubricant available from most good electrical hobbyist stores. Again don't drown the contacts just use enough to clean and neutralize the vinegar.

I have a DJI drone. The batteries are so called intelligent batteries. When fully charged and they are not used for several weeks they discharge to about 20% which they say is best for storage. I would imagine that most batteries would benefit with this if stored for long periods.
