Hello All,
I am looking for a LANC controllable camera in the $500 CAD range. Our church has been given some Bescor MP101 remote control heads with LANC controls that I would like to use, but finding a camcorder with LANC in the price range is very limiting. My current options are:
Sony CX700 - ebay find / LANC via multiport to LANC adapter
Z1U / FX1 - ebay / proper LANC but older camera / only component output.
Just wondering if anyone has any other recommendations in this price range. I was looking at newer Sony camcorders like the CX455 and CX405, but a website states LANC is not available over the multiport adapter anymore. Is this the case? The same site also says the Sony AX2000 does not have LANC but it does, so I don't know how accurate the website is.
We currently have a Sony HXR-MC88 and an HVR-Z1U, however budget does not allow for purchase a second MC88 and I am concerned the Z1U is too old and too big for the MP101 head. I would prefer Sony only because that is what we're using at the moment. If there are any suggestions from other brands that would be fine too.
Thanks
Marl
