Not to insult anyone's intelligence but should I link to some of the resources about the new financial relief options available to small businesses in our world/freelancers? I didn't see any posts about it on here.

Posting links is very helpful.

Also in addition to small businesses, individual contractors can also use the PPP.

It seems delayed somewhat but it is in the works:

This would probably be the place to start:

https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/loans/coronavirus-relief-options

Followed by this

For this one just substitute your own bank instead of the one the link is from.

Also this. There is a box to check to apply for the $10k loan/grant https://covid19relief.sba.gov/#/

Thanks. I'm not sure exactly how it all works; some of my colleagues are under the impression you fill out the initial form on the SBA site and they determine which thing you're eligible/qualify for. For instance some of you are more like business owners with employees or perhaps are S-corps or LLCs or whatever and I'm a simple freelancer/crew member/sole proprietor, so we may not all be up for the same benefits.

Also the differing income levels.

The one I posted applies to all cases - sole proprietor, LLC, corps, etc.

I haven't applied for a loan but I have a colleague who did and he said even a sole proprietor could apply. Whether you would be approved and when you would receive the money are two entirely different matters. I applied for unemployment a week ago and have heard nothing back. The new federal program is supposed to cover self employed but I'm still very skeptical. I could see them saying after a couple of months that they decided based on my situation I'm entitled to something around $100/week if I'm lucky. While it doesn't hurt to apply I wouldn't pin my hopes on it.
