Got it all hooked up and ready to play with but how the hell do yo use it?

It's way too dark of an image.

The sides of the vibrating piece is clearly visible.

The image is so small..

Been playing with it but I'm stumped.......

Make sure the aperature on the SLR lens is open all the way. If you DV camera has an iris, open that up as well. Set your MiniDV camera to Autofocus and zoom in on the image until the edges disappear. IF they don't disappear, then you haven't zoomed in enough.

Hey do you have do be upclose to your subject in order to get the DOF effect on this?

What's the average distance that you usually find yourself from your subject?

Look at the focus ring on your lens. The infinity symbol (sideways 8) is the distance in feet and meters that focus separation disappears. For instance, I think my 1.4f is 30 feet. Anything past 30 feet, when set to infinity, is all in focus. Anything closer to 30 feet becomes increasingly out of focus as it nears the lens. Use the numbers on your lens and you'll soon figure out what they mean and how they can work to your advantage.

Hey bud

the settings I have are Z74 M13

Hope those help

and for the DOF, it's all about the lens.

For me, I have to shoot in letterbox because the bottom of the vibrating thingy shows. Quyen offered to replace the GG to a bigger one for me, which I will probably do once I finish my projects...

That 28mm is going to be godawful. Too small of an aperture for such a short focal length. You will be much happier with something in a 28mm F2.0 if you can find it.

Another essential Letus35 piece of equipment is a can of compressed air. Patience and thoroughness will guarantee a clean Letus and a speck-less movie.

add to that a screwdriver, q-tips, a small bottle of rubbing alcohol and lens paper. i now carry these in a small zip-lock bag with my equipment.
