Yet another photo camera doing a bit of video on the side.

I think a waste of money for those who use a camera primarily for video.

Once again, Nikon and Canon have overstepped Sony in offering 10bit 4:2:2 in their mirrorless offerings over HDMI out.

The A7SIII must be sweating bullets. Sony already confirmed no 10bit, so for those shooting in Log, Nikon and Canon are about to offer some really compelling offerings.

Edit: Uh... where's the headphone port? You know Vloggers want good audio... This might make the Nikon take an advantage over the Canon purely because there's a headphone port in case you're not using a Atomos recorder.

Other than that, looks like Canon does have the bitrate advantage, despite being 8bit internal.

What's on Earth is the point of having a full frame camera for video if it can only produce 4K with a cropped sensor?

Kills the point of having a selfie screen if the crop is so bad you can't have long enough arms to get yourself in frame!

Holy crap. 1.8X crop may as well be Micro 4/3rds.

Yeah, avoid this camera. Get a Nikon Z6 for Full Frame, Nikon Z7 for S35 4K supersampled, and the Fujifilm X-T3 if you want APS-C 4K 60p 10bit 4:2:2 HDMI out.

Or a GH5S for waveforms / timecode / full size HDMI / etc

Jack Zhang

GH5s also has no recording time limit.

Panasonic must have something at CES to counter these offerings. Sony is better off delaying the A7SIII for it's own good.

Canon has created a....GH4. Crop in 4K. Internal recording disabled when outputting 10bit.

How very 2014 of Canon!

I'm genuinely interested to see the new Panasonic FF mirrorless and if it can offer no crop. It claims to offer no crop at DCI 4K 24p/25p, but I'll have to wait and see about the actual crop factors for UHD and HFR.

HA -- yea, come'on Canon, even my two-year old dinky 4/3rds f/1.7 Leica shoots 4k.

By the way, this is how my puny Leica looks nowadays (with follow-focus and lights):
