Does anyone have any experience of using Vegas (specifically Vegas Pro 15) on a Surface Pro? I have just bought (but haven't received yet, otherwise I'd be testing this myself!) a second hand Surface Book Pro 4, i7/16GB/512SSD, primarily to use with Studio One for audio capture/editing while I am on the road (non video related). I wondered whether it would also be effective for editing basic projects in Vegas. I capture 4K from Panasonic GH4 and 5 cameras into a Shogun Flame (mostly business to business videos). I wouldn't expect to be able to do any colour correction or heavy compositing but as a means of doing a rough cut from the client's location or my hotel room it seems like it could be a great tool - if it will handle the media. Next week I am shooting a promo for a sailing holiday company in Minorca and I'll have lots of down time. It would be great not to have to spend that time in a beach-side bar. Wait . . . what am I saying?!
Anyone got any direct experience of this (the tech question, not the beach-bar bit)? And if so, how does Vegas play with the ultrahigh resolution of the Surface Pro screen? Does the UI resize well or is it unusably microscopic? Any workflow tips?
Cheers.
