Hey guys, I've read a couple posts about Cokin filters around DVinfo, but I'm wondering if anyone in here uses them with a DVX100, and which filters they use? I'm looking at getting a Cokin Sunsoft (Ref. 694), and a couple others. Also, which system do you guys use? P or X? Thanks.

You don't need a lot of filters to shoot good video, and you might want to get a few filters other than Cokin. So my suggestion is, why no go for the screw-on Cokins. You have to order them from France for the time being, but they're very inexpensive. If you want the box, though, check out about which size here:

On my web pages, I have a good source in France to get the Cokin screw on line. It's the banner with the filter sizes---27mm to 86mm I think.

I used to use Cokin for still photography but stopped buying them because they scratched so easily. Do they still have that tendency?

Yes, for the Cokin plastic filters; no for the Cokin glass filters. With the screw on Cokins, they don't get scratched when you handle them by their side/lip. Also, with a lens hood, they should have more protection. But you have to be extra careful with the plastic ones, and it's difficult to keep the plastic ones clean (gotta use a cleaning kit, and carefully). They're inexpensive and they're good. Now if I scratched one of my Heliopans...Oh sh*t! There goes $120 Bucks Canadian.
