Been using the PXW-X70 for a couple years now to capture 10-bit 4:2:2 HD XAVC-L footage. I always grade in post with Final Cut Pro X and deliver 8-bit 4:2:0 footage in Rec709 colorspace.
In reading Sony's manual, watching videos and reading these forums about the PXW-Z90V, I'm completely confused about S-Log as pertaining to HD footage.
Can one capture 10-bit 4:2:2 HD with S-Log (2 or 3) gamma? As I ultimately grade everything, I'm hoping I can have more dynamic range if updating to the Z90V.
I do like the other feature improvements of the Z90V, but unless I can get a stop or two of better dynamic range over the X70, I'll pass for now on an upgrade.
