I have an important question. I'm testing DV Filmmaker's 24p conversion out with a project I'm shooting on 60i.

The question I have is -

I like the standard 24p conversion option: 24p/de-interlace (not the Pre-Edit/Post Edit option). It looks fluid, much like a 24p cam (DVX/XL2). When I do put it on the pre/post edit 24p conversion option it looks choppy. I like the standard, but will I be able to add special visual effects (lasers, cgi-creatures) with the standard or will I have to process it the choppy 24p timeline edit way to add these effects. If so will it remain choppy.

Couldn't I add the effects some other way or is this the way to go. I know it would be difficult to add them 60i before I converted the footage 24p. Or am i wrong. Do I do an effects free edit first then add the effects later.

Also can I export a DVD with the standard settings? Or do I have to use the editing option too so it authors a 24p for DVD format?

What do I do?
