Second of three Mavic journeys I'm taking through the Australian outback this year, one more to go by Christmas. If you are expecting punchy editing forget it. I think its all about chilling and enjoying the ride.

Thanks Chris. It is always good to see the red centre. Your drone driving skills are really good, although the animals don't look impressed.
Aren't emus crazy!

Thanks Tim, One thing I've learned is there is no "one" reaction by animals. I have filmed emus near Broken Hill from meters away who couldn't care less about the drone, I was wandering amongst them as if I was part of the group. I think these ones near Wilmington in South Australia were a little testy on the day as they had just been trying to knock down a nearby fence. I've also had waterbirds (cormorants and herons especially) fly straight towards the drone rather than escaping from it as if I am just another bird. I limit these sorts of things to about 3 minute flights, and of course you don't see the emus nonchalantly stopping running seconds later. I truly believe there is no harm done when I am shooting in really remote areas, they may well never see a drone again in their lives anyway! Everything in moderation with commonsense is my rule.
