I use a utility cart to push all my corporate video gear around:

I have a custom 1/2" plywood floor on the bottom rack that extends 5" past the front of the cart. I use this to set my light stands on. Then I use an ordinary garden tool holder (like in your shed):
Unger 5-Bracket Adjustable Cleaning Tool/Handle Holder-964770 - The Home Depot (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unger-5-Bracket-Adjustable-Cleaning-Tool-Handle-Holder-964770/203177329)
To hold the light stands up.
Just wanted to pass this tidbit along!
