I am sure this topic has been discussed before BUT I need to know the best way to convert 4k from a Sony X70 and a Pany GH4.

For editing, I need 1920/1080P. For distribution to DVD, my supplier is asking for a "Master". For viewing at a large venue, I need to put HD onto several "Thumb drives"

I appreciate your advice!

Hi Dan,

I currently do a lot of wedding filming as my main business, filming in both 4K and HD for the same project. The finished product which can be from 60 to 120 minutes is delivered to the client on both DVD and 1080x1920 HD on USB sticks.

What camera you are filming on shouldn't make much difference if your editing programme can play them. I usually use Panasonic cameras, but also sometimes mix in a JVC and various action cams. Once the editing is complete, in my case on Magix VPX7, I export from the timeline to MP4 at 1080x1920 . I sometimes export from the same timeline to DVD, or alternatively I use the MP4 files to make a new timeline, which renders to DVD very quickly.

Not sure if that is the same sort of thing you are trying to do.
