In my timeline, my waveforms or video preview is not showing up on my clips. I can see it in the event viewer on the top as you can see, but I can't see my waveforms. How do I fix this?
It's not rendering as I've let it set for long periods of time and it still doesn't show up. I haven't changed any settings to make it do this. No idea what could have happened

That's super frustrating, especially when you've set aside a bunch of time for the audio editing portion of post production.
Try closing FCPX, and deleting the "Peaks Data" folders inside the Render Files folder, inside the Library. When you reopen it should take a little while to rebuild, but at least it will force it to do something.
I also find it works sometimes to zoom in/out to the last place where the waveforms were visible, let it finish rendering the waveforms, and then zoom in/out slowly so that the waveforms can finish building at each step of the way.
Good luck -

So many reasons this could happen.
The first I can think of is if your Library file is in a near to full hard drive. The second is if there was a disruption during the import process. Did you import directly into the library or is the media still in it's own folder.

Quit FCP X. Relaunch holding ALT + CMD keys and delete preferences. Relaunch and see if this helps at all.
