So, today i've been playing around with the wifi on my X1, i've got the correct dongle, the Asus N53usb version A1, i got the wifi set up and the camera connected to my android phone and android tablet. I followed a youtbe tutorial, link below. Basically the camera becomes it's own wifi hotpsot, no router needed, with streaming capabilities. This is something i've done multiple times with android devices, it's very simple to set up a CCTV system this way, an android device streaming video direct to another android device. It can also be done via a router, this opens up another load of possibilities.
Today i had the X1 connected to my viewing app, the app was pinging it, the camera was connected but no stream, i felt so close !!
At the moment the only app that Panasonic do is for ios, does anyone know if anything is coming for us android users ?
I wonder if Panasonic could impliment a firmware update to allow the camera to stream an mjpeg stream or H264 stream or some other standard stream, which could then be picked up by an android device. I use an app called Tinycam for viewing.

I have a Sony psw x70. I can stream to android VLC player then use Screen Stream app to stream to Facebook or Youtube. Not perfect I admit but does work. I Had to Root my phone also to get internal audio to work. So maybe you could try something similar. https://youtu.be/dLj2PPbByus

Hi Donald.
So you're streaming wirelessly from the camera to the VLC app on android ? Can you elaborate please.

Thanks, Paul.

I used the tethering hotspot to connect the x70 to the phone then streamed to VLC player after that used the Screen Stream Mirror app to stream to Youtube. I used this video for guidance as I'm crap at explaining things. https://youtu.be/XZYVV59dduE PS I went straight to the phone no laptop.
