Took the FZ2500 on morning walk. It was 17 degrees and windy. Although I can see no difference in image quality between the 1000 and 2500 the updates to the newer camera make shooting in these conditions much better. ND filters, ability to use remote controller for start/stop recording and zoom , and much better on board audio allow shooting with gloves easier. Smooth iris adjustment through out zoom range is much improved over the 1000.

Nice Tom
Was that 7 F ?? If so much to cold for me that's around -13 celcius!! I would freeze in that weather but the camera seems to take it in it's stride. I always wonder how dogs can run around in temperatures like that without their paws getting frostbite!! I couldn't imagine a human walking in that temperature with bare feet!!

I think that's -8C. You get use to it. We lived in Fairbanks, Alaska back in the 70's and dealt with some real low temps. Dogs love it. No problem with the cam in those temps but I bag them before coming back into a warm room to avoid condensation. Having some issues with manual focus with the cam but so far only issue I've encountered.
