The computer is in excellent condition and was fully maxed out at time of purchase, including Intel HD Graphics 4000 512MB graphics card. It has a BRAND NEW battery and top case, just installed by Apple last week. The screen is also very new -- replaced under warranty by Apple. I've wiped the laptop to original factory specs, so it has OS 10.8.5, which may be advantageous if you have software that is not compatible with the latest Apple OS. It comes with the original Apple Power Supply and extension cable. The cord that connects to the power supply has weakened but is wrapped with electric tape and works fine. Asking $1250. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any questions or request pictures. Peter Josh Bass January 21st, 2017, 03:55 PM Hi. I can't lie, I am not planning to buy, but in your experience what are the risks buying a used laptop? I want to get something (Apple) at some point this year as part of a teleprompter system, but also be able to edit and use Logic on it. In your estimation, what are the chances anything about the way it was used or just age or anything else makes a used laptop a ticking time bomb just waiting to fizzle out/crash/brick at any time? I'm not trying to be accusatory, genuinely wondering. It's the same thing that made me too paranoid to buy a used camera body when I got my C100. Thanks for any insight you can provide. Jim Nogueira January 22nd, 2017, 08:56 PM This is a micro four thirds mount lens. Works with Panasonic, Olympus and other cameras. Perfect for the GH4, GH3, etc. Includes all original accessories. No imperfections, dust, mold etc. on glass. Lens is in near perfect condition save for a slight mark on the focus ring (see last picture) and has seen little use. Comes in original box with unopened user manual, front and rear caps, lens hood and pouch (forgot to include the pouch in the main photo). Asking $450 shipped. Darryl Murphy January 23rd, 2017, 10:18 AM Selling a Fujinon XS8X4AS-XB8 32 mm wide angle lens for the Sony EX-3. Works perfectly, only a few scratches from use. Asking $1500. Bill Rankin January 26th, 2017, 12:13 PM I have three batteries purchased in November 2016. I returned the camera, but was unable to return batteries without packaging. My mistake! They are up for sale on Ebay Canon LP-E6N battery | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/252737873353?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649) Peter Richardson January 28th, 2017, 01:26 PM Lowering price to $1000. Peter Richardson January 28th, 2017, 01:29 PM Hey Josh! Sorry for not replying sooner. I guess it would depend on the laptop. I think Apple computers are generally well-made and have long-lasting components. In my case, a few of the components have already been replaced (the battery and top case, as noted), as well as the screen as a part of an Apple recall and the logic board at the same time, all under warranty. So in a way a lot of it is pretty new. I have friends with laptops they've been using for years and they still work fine, so it's probably some combination of how it was used, manufacturer, and luck. Hope that helps! Peter John Nantz January 28th, 2017, 07:43 PM To Peter and Josh: If I can throw in a biased opinion here, I think the 2012 MBP (mid) is one of the best used values and consequently I own two of them. One for routine stuff and the other only for video editing when traveling. Also have a Mac Pro for video only work. The plus with the 2012 (mid) is that it has the Core i7 processor, USB 3.0 (vice 2.0 on earlier models), and one can easily change the things that matter such as the battery, memory, DVD drive, and the HDD. The Solid State Drive (SSD) has brought new life into these older laptops. Besides being so snappy to use, the computer runs cooler so the electronics should last longer. The battery will last longer under use, too, due to less current drain. As for how well the various Macs hold up a good idea is to search for the model along with various key words like “problem”, “died”, etc. There will always be some units that have problems but by reading enough posts one should be able to determine what issues there are and their likelihood. For editing that requires extensive processing I prefer to use the Mac Pro. Effectively new in box from the factory, just took too long to return and figured I'd need it eventually but didn't. B&H sells these for $460, I'm asking $390 including shipping within North America and Paypal feels. PM me if you're interested. Dan Gunn February 7th, 2017, 01:16 PM I want to TRADE an Easyrig "Turtle"!!! Sorry, I do not wish to mislead anyone re the For Sale prefix. I bought it for one of my shooters. He actually won an Emmy for his work and he had used one in his last job. A couple of weeks after we got it in, he decided to move to Washington DC. It has been sitting ever since. I think it looks weird to have a hook hanging over your head. I shoot weddings mostly and I don't want it in a church. The "Turtle" is the model that includes a removable pack pack and is rated up to 8.8 pounds. I bought it new from Ablecine . From what I have read there are lots of Chinese knockoffs and they are junk. It has never been used but is very dusty. I really could use another Sony camera. I have a Sony X70 and I love it! Open to all trade offers including cash on my part. Paul Cronin February 7th, 2017, 04:07 PM For sale my treasured GL Optics 11-16 f/2.8 PL mount lens. I have used this on my Sony F55 and Sony FS7, now I am shooting a long-term show with out PL mount camera. So instead of keeping it on the shelf in the studio I am going to give it a new home. I purchased this lens new. Never failed me on the wide shots and very well built. Clean lens with nothing wrong and ready to make money on a gig. Comes with both lens caps and a very nice Think Tank lens bag. You pay insured shipping and I will pay paypal fee. $1950 Phil Murray February 7th, 2017, 07:47 PM I bought a tripod/head combo from Adorama a couple of weeks ago, but have no need for the head - the Manfrotto MVH502AH - as I already have a MVH500AH which better fits my equipment. It's unopened in the original box. Asking $140 + shipping which shouldn't be more than $20 UPS in the continental US. I can add pictures if necessary, but decided to just leave it in the box for now. Here's Adorama specs and info: The Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Head with Flat Base (3/8"-16 Connection) is an affordable yet remarkably full-featured professional head that represents an advance over the popular 501HDV, with sturdier construction and featuring Manfrotto's patented bridging technology (inherited from the 509HD and 504HD heads). This head is designed for executing cinematic moves with compact camcorders and DSLR video cameras. The 502HD comes in two versions: the "AH" flat-base version, which this one is, and the "A" ball-base version, which is separately available. Weight capacity is 15.4 lbs. and counterbalance supports 8.8 lbs. The balance plate's 3.27" range allows you to correct for uneven payloads that might be due to matte boxes or exotic DSLR rig configurations. The bridging technology ensures that the pan friction control is intuitive and easy to set, but also protected against knocks. There are of course independent locks for pan and tilt, and drag for both is selectable in a continuous range from zero to the max level. This allows you to operate the head in a confident, smooth manner using the included pan bar. The 502HD has full smoothness control while shooting thanks to the variable fluid mechanisms. Ideal for latest camcorder and HDSLR cameras supplied with external accessories (4kg max capacity). The head can be combined with all photo tripods, thanks to the 3/8" female thread. The Manfrotto MVH502AH is commonly used for Video and more. The Manfrotto MVH502AH is most used by customers who consider themselves to be a Semi-pro photographer among others. The Manfrotto MVH502AH is popular because customers like the following qualities of the Manfrotto MVH502AH: Attaches firmly and Stable Manfrotto MVH502AH Features 15.4 lbs weight capacity Counterbalance supports 8.8 lbs Spring-loaded counter balance Continuously adjustable pan/tilt drag Pan bar sliding plate included Paul Cronin February 8th, 2017, 06:55 AM I received these with a bunch of Dracast lights I purchased and will not use them. Here's the B&H link to the one in the post. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/827210-REG/Manfrotto_MVH502AH_75Mm_Flat_Head.html Phil Murray February 8th, 2017, 04:14 PM Reed is right. I already have the one you mentioned, Oren -- the MVH500AH. It's a great head and has become my go-to even over the lighter one that I had been using. There's a possibility that I may be moving overseas in the next 6-8 months to teach English or even just to be a traveling vagabond depending if I retire this year or not. If I do, I'm considering switching to a DSLR like the new Panasonic GH5 to keep my traveling kit more manageable when doing both photos and video so smaller gear including tripods/heads will be important as I may be living out of a backpack for part of the time. |
