Since there's no direct category I see for this...

Like so many others I'm tired of the low-res environment that both Canon and Nikon are offering when it comes to nothing better than an 8-bit HMDI out. (1DC & 5D). I need a good traditional SLR-type body for shooting my photo work (which I still do tons of) but also having the benefit of good-looking on-board video from the same rig.

I'm quite aware that the GH4 and at least one or two others are offering *true* 10-bit clean HMDI out, even in 4K (the Nikon D5 is wrapping an 8-bit output into a 10-bit container and so does Canon) but the issue I have with those systems is that the EVF is not very high-res when it comes to photography (my eyes ain't perfect ya know) and I also don't like the 4/3rds crop. There's a few other considerations also that keep me away from these smaller mirrorless cams.

So enter the Leica SL. Big body, adapters to fit anything from PL to EF (and even MFT), true 10-bit HDMI out and good god, real Leica glass for photo work. Yes, I'm aware of the price tag.

I'm just not finding any reviews out there that isn't too fan-boy-ish or obviously biased because of sponsorship.

Does anyone have real-world hands-on experience with an SL rig for video??

Cheers.
