I was thinking of changing to the PXW-Z150 but would like an external record for backup recording.
I'm using a NanoFlash as backup at the moment and like the idea of holding onto the clips on the CF cards until the bride collects her DVD.
The NF is triggered to stop/start along with my camera and is also powered by the camera so its the perfect backup with my setup at the moment :)

I'm recording at 35 Mbps onto the NF, so two 32GB CFcards would last me most of the day.

I'm looking for something similar as backup.

Any ideas and thanks in advance.

I have just been using Blackmagic Video Assists on a shoot. I thought they were VERY good. Both the 'normal' and the 4K versions. Worth checking out, I'd say.

Thanks Mark, so is it trigger record to start/stop along with the camera?
I see it records onto an SD Card.
Wonder would there be any bother importing the recorded clips into Edius?

Thank you.

Yes, trigger record over HDMI or SDI, but can't vouch for whether it works with Z150 or not: you need to do your research. Yes, SD cards but again you have to get the right ones: the manual (available online) tells you.

As you can probably guess from my signature I'm not an Edius user! But it records in various bitrates of ProRes or DNxHD as one single file (no 4GB limits) so if Edius can handle either of those formats, then I imagine it'll work.

Thank you Mark, not sure if I will buy the Z150or not, just thinking out loud :)
Best to find out as much as I can first.

Thanks again..
