Saw this today while looking around for wav/wireless stuff. Seems the price for this gizmo is a tad on the high side.
Mobile Phone Voice Audio Recording - external Microphone - Voice Recording app - Sennheiser (http://en-us.sennheiser.com/mobile-recording)
I don't use my phone for recording, interesting thought though, but it seem like the app should be 1.99 in the app store lol.

It does seem a bit pricey just to record the offspring saying "mama, dada."
And for pro use, if you're going to spend that much money, why not just buy a standalone recorder with standard connectors that will interface with the normal audio world?

But then Greg, you could look like this when you edit on location...

It's really for broadcasters to record 24/96 quality from a good mic. and immediately e-mail the recording back to base.
Looks you can also control several phones at once.

There certainly is some merit in that. I'm not familiar with any of the mobile phone recording apps, limitations, etc. What happens if you get an incoming call in the middle of a recording session? Etc. Hopefully they have taken that sort of situation into account.

Rode Rec and their clip mic does pretty much the same thing for a lot less, I personally use a £15 ultradisk mic with my i-fone and it does the job well for quick recordings.
