So, I usually use Windows Media Player or the Divx player, sometimes I use the Wondershare player, but I didn't know if there are other better players out there for general playback on PC while editing.

VideoLAN aka VLC is what I use.

+1 for VLC
I recently discovered it, and it does many things. I use it to play directly from ISO images

MPC-HC has vertical sync control that VLC doesn't have.
