I know this lens is crazy expensive BUT does it have servo zoom? If not what is it marketed for stills?

Chris Harding July 21st, 2016, 12:17 AM Hi Randy Is the range what you are looking for? I had a Sigma F2.8 28mm - 70mm and found the wide setting on the EA-50 was never wide enough for anything ..it equates to around 42mm at full wide and the tele side it's only really good for portrait stuff .. I found it nice on my Nikon for stills but not adaptable enough for video. If Sony does have a PZ model it's gonna cost you but are you sure about the range ..Sony make a servo 28 -135 with constant F4 thru the range not 70mm though and here it's over $3000 !!! I don't see a listing for a 28-70 with a servo zoom so you must be talking about the 28-135 PZ model surely?? Randy Johnson July 21st, 2016, 06:30 AM Sorry I meant 24 to 70 Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM Lens SEL2470GM B&H Photo Video I know its expensive BUT if it has all the features I need ( I dont think it will) it might be worth the investment for me. I relized I need auto focus and iris and servo zoom. Although for that money it would make sense to spend a little more and get one of the new panasonics. Steven Digges July 21st, 2016, 01:04 PM Here is the lens Chris was referring to: Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens SELP18105G B&H Photo Video It is only $600.00 instead of the $2,200.00 for the one your looking at. It is a perfect lens for the EA50. I have plenty of faster glass but this Sony G has become my go to lens for most things. It is every bit as sharp as my Canon "L" series glass. That means it is a lot sharper than the original EA50 kit lens. Kind Regards, Steve Randy Johnson July 21st, 2016, 05:47 PM Yeah I alreadu have that one. Its ok but that 4.0 down to 2.8 makes a big difference. Plus I have troubles with that lens with the autofocus sometimes it doesnt want to focus even though its picks up the right zone. I find myself turning off AF sometimes. |
